Recurrin' Appointments and Repeat Bookin's
Some work be not one parley. It be twelve sessions o' coachin', a weekly lesson, a block o' treatments. Bookin' a repeat appointment one at a time wastes everyone's time and loses folk halfway through. Here be what CalendarPA does instead.
What can repeat, and how often it sails
A bookin' type can be set to repeat on any o' these:
- Every day, or every few days, matey.
- Weekly, the same weekday and time each week.
- Every two weeks, matey.
- Monthly, on the same date each moon.
- Specific weekdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, say, rather than one day a week.
Two shapes be available. A fixed series runs fer a set number o' sessions, up to 52, and can be paid fer up front. An open-ended series just keeps goin', with no end date, until it be paused or scuttled.
Gettin' paid fer the whole series
A fixed series be bought once rather than session by session, which be the difference between sellin' a package and hopin' someone rebooks:
- One checkout covers every session in the series, matey.
- Ye can price the series below the per-session rate, as a percentage or a fixed amount, so buyin' the block be worth it.
- If the soul holds credits, those cover whole sessions and only the remainder be charged.
Changin' one session without rockin' the rest o' the boat
Real schedules move. A series be not all-or-nothin':
- A single session can be moved without touchin' the others.
- One session can be scuttled, or the remainin' ones, leavin' finished sessions alone.
- An open-ended series can be paused and resumed later, which be what ye want fer a summer break rather than scuttlin' and rebuildin' it.
The daylight savin' detail
A weekly 2 PM session stays at 2 PM after the clocks change. The dates be worked out in yer own timezone rather than in UTC, so a series does not quietly slide by an hour twice a year, which be the kind o' fault nobody notices until a client arrives an hour early.
Monthly series clamp to the end o' the moon, so one booked fer the 31st still lands in February rather than skippin' it.
Which plans o' the sea include this
Recurrin' bookin's be on the Pro and Business plans, not the free plan. The full breakdown o' what each plan includes be on the wares page.
Common questions o' the deep
How do I rig recurrin' appointments?
Open the bookin' type ye want to repeat, go to its Recurrence settin's, and choose a pattern and whether it be a fixed series or open-ended. From then on, that bookin' type be bookable as a series rather than a single appointment.
Can clients book a repeat appointment themselves, matey?
Aye, that be the point o' settin' it on the bookin' type. Someone picks the first slot on yer bookin' page and the rest o' the series be generated from it, rather than the two o' ye agreein' twelve dates by email.
How many sessions can one series have, matey?
Up to 52 in a single series. A fixed series also spans at most a year from its first session. An open-ended series has no session limit because it has no end date, it runs until paused or scuttled.
Can someone pay fer the whole series at once?
Aye, fer a fixed series. One checkout covers every session, and ye can discount the series against the per-session price. Any credits the buyer holds be applied to whole sessions first, and only the remainder be charged.
Can I move or scuttle just one session?
Aye. A single session can be rescheduled or scuttled on its own, and the rest o' the series carries on. Ye can also scuttle the remainin' sessions without affectin' ones already finished.
What happens to a series when the clocks change, matey?
Nothin' ye have to fix. The times be calculated in yer timezone, so a 2 PM session stays 2 PM across a daylight savin' change instead o' driftin' by an hour.
Which plans include recurrin' bookin's?
Pro and Business. Recurrin' bookin's be not available on the free plan, so a free account will see the recurrence settin's but not be able to switch 'em on.
